SB40 provides that a new single-family residence or a small multifamily residence shall have at least one electric-vehicle-capable parking space for each residential unit that has dedicated parking.
The Illinois State House of Representatives passed SB40 on May 4, 2023 by a vote of 69 to 38. We have assigned pluses to the nays because this legislation creates more government interference in the free-market economy and advances the Marxist climate-change agenda. Businesses and developers should have the freedom to conduct business without the government meddling in their affairs by setting unrealistic and costly regulations.
