CO Scorecard 2021-2022

The following scorecard lists several key votes in the Colorado General Assembly in 2021 and 2022 and ranks state representatives and senators based on their fidelity to (U.S.) constitutional and limited-government principles.

This is our first state-level Scorecard; the selected votes may not be reflective of legislators’ overall records. Their cumulative scores will change as we add more votes. Please check regularly for updates.

House of Representatives

1. Rescind Con-Con

Good Vote: Yes

HJR1006 Rescind Con-Con (Passed 64 to 0 on 4/21/2021). Rescinds of all previous requests by the Colorado Legislature for a convention under Article V of the United States Constitution.

2. Reproductive Health Equity Act

Good Vote: No

HB1279 Reproductive Health Equity Act (Passed 40 to 24 on 3/14/2022). Makes it illegal to impose restrictions on abortion and makes it legal to murder preborn babies up to the moment of birth.

3. Deceptive Tactics

Good Vote: Yes

SB23 Deceptive Tactics (Passed 50 to 12 on 5/11/2022). Prohibits deceptive tactics during custodial interrogation of a juvenile.

4. Congressional Voting Rights

Good Vote: No

HR1004 Congressional Voting Rights (Passed 40 to 23 on 1/18/2022). Urges Congress to pass comprehensive voting rights legislation that compromises election integrity.

5. Building Green Codes

Good Vote: No

HB1362 Building Green Codes (Passed 41 to 24 on 5/11/2022). Sets standards to reduce building greenhouse gas emissions.

6. Displaced Aurarian Scholarship

Good Vote: No

HB1393 Displaced Aurarian Scholarship (Passed 51 to 11 on 4/29/2022).  Creates the Displaced Aurarian scholarship for the descendants of Aurarians, a neighborhood in Denver, displaced by the development of the Auraria Higher Education Center between 1955 and 1973.
