The following scorecard lists several key votes in the Georgia Legislature in 2021-2022 and ranks their State Senators and House Representatives based on their fidelity to (U.S.) constitutional and limited-government principles.

This is our first state-level Scorecard; the selected votes may not be reflective of legislators’ overall records. Their cumulative scores will change as we add more votes. Please check regularly for updates.

Senate

1. State Budget

Good Vote: No

HB911 State Budget (Passed 56 to 0 on 3/25/2022). Enacts Georgia’s 2022-2023 fiscal year budget, spending a record $30.2 billion dollars, which is nearly an 11% increase from the previous year’s budget.

2. Vaccine Passport Ban

Good Vote: Yes

SB345 Vaccine Passport Ban (Passed 34 to 20 on 4/4/2022). Prohibits state and local governments from mandating vaccine passports, essentially banning COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

3. Save Girls' Sports Act

Good Vote: Yes

SB435 Save Girls' Sports Act (Passed 34 to 22 on 2/24/2022). Prohibits transgender students from playing on sports teams that match their gender identity.

4. Con Con - Balanced Budget

Good Vote: No

SR29 Con Con - Balanced Budget (Passed 34 to 20 on 2/22/2021). Requests for a convention of the states under Article V of the United States Constitution for a Balanced Budget Amendment.

5. Constitutional Carry

Good Vote: Yes

SB319 Constitutional Carry (Passed 34 to 20 on 4/1/2022). Removes the requirement that you must possess a permit when carrying a concealable weapon or firearm.

6. Con Con - Term Limits

Good Vote: No

SR28 Con Con-Term Limits (Passed 34 to 20 on 2/22/2021). Requests that the United States Congress call a convention under Article V of the Constitution to establish term limits.
