The following scorecard lists several key votes in the Idaho Legislature in 2019-2020 and ranks state representatives and senators based on their fidelity to (U.S.) constitutional and limited-government principles.
This is our first state-level Scorecard; the selected votes may not be reflective of legislators’ overall records. Their cumulative scores will change as we add more votes. Please check regularly for updates.
Senate
1. Expanding Warrantless Arrests
SJR104 Expanding Warrantless Arrests (Passed 17 to 15 on 3/18/2020). Allows police to make warrantless misdemeanor arrests on the supposition of criminal behavior, even if no criminal activity is observed.
2. Targeting Credit Unions
HB473 Targeting Credit Unions (Passed 22 to 9 on 3/3/20). Changes regulations as related to credit unions, but not financial institutions more generally.
3. Fairness in Women's Sports
HB500 Fairness in Women's Sports (Passed 24 to 11 on 3/16/2020). Prevents biological males from participating in women's sports.

6. Banning Partial-Birth Abortion
SB1049 Banning Partial-Birth Abortion (Passed 29 to 6 on 2/14/2019). Rewrites an existing ban on partial-birth abortions to make the ban enforceable.
