The following scorecard lists several key votes in the Idaho Legislature in 2019-2020 and ranks state representatives and senators based on their fidelity to (U.S.) constitutional and limited-government principles.

This is our first state-level Scorecard; the selected votes may not be reflective of legislators’ overall records. Their cumulative scores will change as we add more votes. Please check regularly for updates.

House of Representatives

1. Fairness in Women's Sports

Good Vote: Yes

HB500 Fairness in Women's Sports (Passed 54 to 16 on 3/18/2020). Prevents biological males from participating in women's sports.

2. Targeting Credit Unions

Good Vote: No

HB473 Targeting Credit Unions (Passed 51 to 18 on 3/3/20). Changes regulations as related to credit unions, but not financial institutions more generally.

3. Government Data Collection

Good Vote: No
HB432 Government Data Collection (Passed 35 to 23 on 2/28/2020). Creates the Criminal Justice Integrated Data System and the Data Oversight Council.

4. Expanding Public School Bureaucracy

Good Vote: No

SB1029 Expanding Public School Bureaucracy (Failed 20 to 49 on 3/22/2019). Expanding public school administrative bureaucracy in the form of creating a "School Turnaround Committee" in failing schools.

5. Strengthening Concealed Carry

Good Vote: Yes

HB206 Concealed Carry (Passed 53 to 14 on 3/14/2019). Lowers the age limit for concealed carrying of a handgun inside of city limits.

6. Banning Partial-Birth Abortion

Good Vote: Yes

SB1049 Banning Partial Birth Abortions (Passed 50 to 11 on 3/1/2019). Augments an existing ban on partial-birth abortions by updating the code to make the ban enforceable.
