Taxpayers should not be financially responsible for supporting movie productions that are associated with leftists. Furthermore, government should not intervene in the marketplace by selectively granting tax incentives to specific industries.

The New York State Senate passed A01142 on May 22, 2023 by a vote of 46 to 15. We have assigned pluses to the nays because this bill conforms to the woke leftist culture that focuses on virtue signaling and being politically correct.

Pharmacist Prescribed Birth Control  |  A01060

A01060 permits the dispensing of self-administered hormonal contraceptives by allowing licensed physicians and certified nurse practitioners to provide pharmacists licensed and operating within the state with non-patient-specific orders for the distribution of birth control.

The New York State Senate passed A01060 on March 31, 2023 by a vote of 48 to 15. We have assigned pluses to the nays because hormonal birth control drugs, particularly high-dose prescription-only ‘morning-after’ pills, can and do prevent uterine implantation of developing pre-born children, causing them to function not only as “contraceptives,” but also as abortifacients, thereby resulting in ‘silent abortions.’ Given that the care of human life—not its destruction—is the greatest responsibility of government, New York should act to forbid all methods of abortion and secure the right to life for every pre-born child. The right to life is the most fundamental, God-given, and unalienable right asserted in the Declaration of Independence and protected by the Fifth and 14th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

S01359 establishes the Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice to coordinate policy, resource allocation, and services to promote equal opportunities and outcomes for all, regardless of race or “social justice constructs”.

We have assigned pluses to the nays because this legislation expands the size of government by establishing a new government office, which is created to further divide and pit Americans against each other. The Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” We must remain true in our commitment to equality and resist government actions that seek to divide us.

A00627 requires nursing homes to follow Federal CDC or Medicare and Medicaid guidance relating to infectious disease control planning and procedures.

The New York State Senate passed A00627 on February 6, 2023 by a vote of 63 to 0. We have assigned pluses to the nays because states should not surrender their powers to the federal government. The Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Surrendering power to an unconstitutional federal agency can restrict the state’s autonomy when such an agency creates tyrannical guidelines.

S00825 requires insurance coverage by every large group policy to include medical, major medical, or comprehensive-type coverage for pre-exposure prophylaxis and post-exposure prophylaxis to prevent HIV infection.

S02475 prohibits the consideration of another state’s law allowing a child’s removal based on gender-affirming care in custody cases, restricts law enforcement from cooperating with out-of-state agencies regarding such care, and blocks subpoenas in out-of-state proceedings for health information of those seeking sex changes in New York.

We have assigned pluses to the nays because sex mutilation violates the unalienable right to life and limb of minor children, while absurdly attempting to erase biological sex with fictional “gender” constructs. According to the Bill of Rights and the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the States have a duty to protect the humanity of all people—male and female—who, as the Declaration of Independence affirms, are created by God and form the basis of individual and family self-government.

We have assigned pluses to the nays because racism is not a public health crisis and this resolution embraces the left’s woke Marxist agenda. This is an unconstitutional use of taxpayer dollars that and will create even more division.

Green Building Codes  |  S09405

S09405 establishes the “advanced building codes, appliance and equipment efficiency standards act”, which promotes clean energy and the implementation of the climate agenda set forth in the New York state climate leadership and community protection act to the state energy conservation construction code. This increases the energy efficiency standards of appliances and equipment.

The New York State Assembly passed S09405 on June 1, 2022 by a vote of 103 to 47. We have assigned pluses to the nays because this legislation creates more government interference in the free market economy and advances the Marxist climate change agenda. Businesses should have the freedom to conduct business without the government meddling in their affairs. The Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” and government interference in entrepreneurship and private business is in violation of that belief.

S05257 provides a mechanism for the state to finance the acquisition of distressed hotels and commercial office properties by the appropriate nonprofit organizations for the purpose of providing affordable housing.

The New York State Assembly passed S08527 on June 9, 2021 by a vote of 146 to 2. We have assigned pluses to the nays because this is government interfering in the free market and this government subsidized housing benefits only a specific part of the population. This is also another step towards socialism as subsidized housing is a misuse of taxpayer dollars.

S03468 establishes the office of racial equity and social justice to establish, oversee, manage, coordinate and facilitate the planning, design and implementation of the state’s racial equity and social justice action plan.

The New York State Assembly passed S03468 on May 23, 2022 by a vote of 140 to 5. We have assigned pluses to the nays because the left has been promoting woke radical Marxist ideas for years regarding race and sexual orientation. The government and taxpayer dollars should not be embracing these ideas.

S08884 establishes the transgender and gender non-binary (TGNB) wellness and equity program, which expands social programs in the name of equity. Increases transgender, non-binary  and  intersex cultural competence by investing in cultural programs or school curriculums that are designed by, or in consultation with, gender expansive individuals. Addresses inequities in current funding distribution for organizations serving gender expansive individuals.

The New York State Assembly passed S08884 on June 3, 2022 by a vote of 136 to 13. We have assigned pluses to the nays because the left has been promoting woke radical Marxist ideas for years; that you can decide to be any gender you want to be. They believe that people can choose their pronouns and that they can be transgender. Scientifically and biblically, there are two genders and the government and taxpayer dollars should not be used to conform to the woke culture of the left.
