The following scorecard lists several key votes in the Vermont Legislature in 2023 and ranks their State Senators and House Representatives based on their fidelity to (U.S.) constitutional and limited-government principles.

Senate

1. Statewide Preschool Funding

Good Vote: No

H217 Statewide Preschool Funding (passed 23 to 7 on 6/20/2023). Would require all school districts to provide full day kindergarten care to all children in the district.

2. Red Flag Law

Good Vote: No

H230 Red-Flag Law (passed 19 to 9 on 5/2/2023). Allows family members to report someone as unstable, prohibiting them from purchasing a weapon.

3. Cap and Trade Scheme

Good Vote: No

S5 Cap and Trade Scheme (passed 20 to 10 on 5/09/2023). Would force a carbon credit system upon businesses, and increase the role of the state in energy matters.

4. Collective Bargaining

Good Vote: No

S102 Collective Bargaining (passed 23 to 7 on 3/30/2023). Would expand collective bargaining to allow outside organizations to sue employers for cause.

5. Ranked-Choice Voting

Good Vote: No

S32 Ranked-Choice Voting (passed 23 to 7 on 3/29/2023). Changes the method of voting to a confusing ranked ballot.

6. State Environmental Control

Good Vote: No

S213 State Environmental Control (passed 24 to 4 on 3/20/2023). Would provide the state Agency of Natural Resources control over riverways.
