1. Safeguarding Wisconsin’s 1849 Abortion Ban
SB343 Safeguarding Wisconsin's 1849 Abortion Ban (passed 22 to 10 on 10/17/2023). Would provide that “abortion” under state law “does not include a physician’s performance medical procedures or treatments designed or intended to prevent the death of a pregnant woman and not designed or intended to kill the unborn child.”
2. Repealing Work-Permit Requirements for Minors
SB436 Repealing Work-Permit Requirements for Minors (passed 21 to 11 on 10/17/2023). Would eliminate the requirement for a minor who is 14 or 15 years of age to obtain a state-authorized work permit prior to employment.
